Character cakes for kids by Art Eats Bakery

Art Eats Bakery Greenville, SC

I love making sculpture cakes. These two kids cakes where so much fun. Most people that saw them didn’t even realize that they were cakes until they were told. Everything is edible. The wizard and his table are cake covered with fondant. the jars, candles, moons and stars are sugar paste and the books are chocolate with white chocolate pages. The sleeping beauty cake has a cake mattress and fondant beauty, bedspread, rug and roses. The bed frame is sugar paste that is dried and the painted with food color to look like wood grain. Cakes have come a long way from butter cream swirls. I make my own fondant and put real scratch made butter cream under it, so it taste good. Most butter creams in other bakeries is shortening and sugar and doesn’t even have real vanilla. It doesn’t make sense to have a beautiful cake that isn’t wonderful to eat.
